Today in English class, Ms. Bacon ask everyone in class to learn about the dangers of DHMO with THE DHMO website only. I knew that DHMO is a very dangerous chemical substance from that website and I think it should be banned as soon as possible. Although I learned chemistry in China, I still missed that DHMO is just simply water just because I read it on a website!
This special experience gave me a lesson. I will use the information that I find online more carefully. And compare it to other website see if the information is correct and authoritative. This is really a good experience.
I'm glad you enjoyed this experience. I didn't want anyone to feel bad or stupid because they didn't know what DHMO was. I didn't WANT them to know ahead of time, or this exercise wouldn't have had the same affect, right?
ReplyDeleteTomorrow we will talk about how to identify accurate information online. It's not easy, but it's also not impossible. This exercise was meant to do just what it did: help you all see the need to be accurate and careful in your online research!
